Two of the top teams in the district for the past several years, at least; River won the regular season between these two teams. Who do you have?

Either of these teams can win , it will be a good game, but in my opinion FF would have been better to bracket with Shadyside. Shadyside is not nearly the team off their home court as on it. Plus Lauren Flannery is one of the better D4 players in Ohio, probably 1st Team all Ohio.

92.3 WXCR will have coverage of the #3 Fort Frye Lady Cadets vs. the #2 River Lady Pilots in the Div. IV, East District Girls Basketball Semifinals. Pregame will begin at 6:45pm, followed by tipoff at 7pm from Meadowbrook HS on Wednesday, Feb. 27th.

Should be a very good ballgame. Fort Frye will probably have to be at there best to beat River.

Not sure about the Home Court comment, Shadyside beat River at Hannibal and lost to them at home.

Not saying I'm right , just my opinion based on the way Shadyside was lighting it up at home the last several games of the season.
The River win at River is a little deceptive. River has improved with the emergence of Allie Long, a big athletic player. At Bellaire she had 26 points and 10 plus rebounds. She was sick and did not play in the loss to Shadyside.

If it comes down to another Shadyside River rematch, I will pull for Shadyside, although I believe River will probably win.

After 1 qtr. FF leads 13-12

Rivers pressure bothering Fort Frye, scored the last eight points of the half River leads 24 to 17

After 3, River up 28-22

Cadets up 1 with 30 sec's left.

Cadets win 38-34

Congrats Fort Frye on your big win tonight over River. Take it one game at a time.

Fort girls were down 9 in the fourth. Let’s go get Shadyside.

River led 32-23 with 3:22 left. Borich made two treys sandwiched around 2 FT by Archer which cut the score to 33-31 with 2:14 left. Then Dalton made a great back-court steal from Flannery and got the basket to tie it at 33 with 2:04 left, FF got the ball back and got in the paint and drained an open 7 footer for a 35-33 lead. Long made a FT to cut it to 35-34, then Ross went to the line for FF with 29 sec remaining for the front end of the one and one and missed, but River was whistled for a lane violation and Ross then made both ends, and also made the front end of another one with 9 sec left to make the final score 38-34.

Fort Fyre vs Shadyside game will be at Cambridge

You can see this Fort Frye group starting to grow into a top notch team. They are starting to close out more of these close games after falling short a year ago.
