Getting close and I know some boys that are itching to get back on the diamond.

Meigs made an impressive D2 post season run last season from the 7 seed, beating Jackson, Marietta, Sheridan and Minford before falling 1-0 in 8 innings to Big Walnut. They return Luke Musser, Chase Whitlatch, Cody Bartrum, Layne Acree and Christian Mattox etc.. along with the addition of Kaileb Sheets. They should not skip a beat from last season.

Alexander also made a very impressive D3 post season run as well. Knocked off Rock Hill, Crooksville, Zane Trace, Southeastern and Marion Pleasant before falling to their nemesis Wheelersburg 5-3. They lose Brody McGrath and Zac Smith but return a bunch. Players like Lukas Thompson, Chace Harris, Mason Chapman, Arick Russell, Cory Chapman, Shea Grigsby, Kyle Howard and Jordan Colburn.

Athens got by Warren in the first round of the playoffs before losing 10-0 to Minford. They lose the Luehrman twins, Howman twins, Sam Vander Ven, Greysan Kerns and Alex Pomento. They return Juniors and 3 year Varsity starters Brendan Sano and Brock Stewart. They also return Juniors Andy Kostival, Luke Carpenter and Brody Rodgers along with Senior Hunter Mullins.

Looking forward to it.

Wellston is pretty solid with position players but we will need to find some arms if we are going to compete against Alex and Meigs this year who should be the favorites in the league for sure.

It's sad to hear, but Alexander Baseball has lost a great man today..R.I.P Coach Vaughn Grigsby...You will still be with those Spartan Baseballers for many seasons.

It's going to be at least a 2 way tie for the league again this year.
Alexander
Athens
Meigs

My pick is Alexander but Athens, Meigs, or both will tie for the league as well.

I think it's between Alex and Meigs. What all does Athens have coming back?

Same as last year. Alexander, Athens, and Meigs will be the best. Alexander will probably win the outright title.

For Alex, the loss of the shortstop (that was eventually moved to catcher) is going to hurt. Teams can never completely fill the hole kids like that leave after graduation. That kid was a great player.

Tyler Vickers graduated from Alexander in 2014. His brother, Dillon, is a Senior this year.

Alex and Meigs will be a handful, look for Alex to play inspired ball from start to finish...

Smith and Holt were the Spartans one two punch last year.
Losing Smith is big but the Spartans always seem to find good pitching.
