Chillicothe comes into this game bouncing back from a 4-3 victory over Warren after a long bus ride.
Gallia comes in after a victory over the Athens Bulldogs as they beat them at home 5-1.
Any thoughts on this showdown in Chilli?

This should be a very good baseball game...wish I could be there. Both teams have some very good hitters. Kind of crazy that Gallia has to travel. Makes the regular season meaningless.

Scoop...Will the Gallipolis at Chillicothe game be played on Thursday or Friday? Original date was Wednesday, but was postponed. Chillicothe paper today said it was Friday.

Jottings - It is scheduled for Thursday, weather permitting. It was either a Chillicothe Gazette typo or a misunderstanding of the schedule.

The Cavc seem to be playing better ball the last part of the season. They could very well take this one.

Gallipolis owns a 3-0 mark over the Cavs this spring. It's awful hard to beat a team four times in a row, especially if the game is on the Cavs home turf.
Gallipolis will have to play its best game of the year in order to advance to the district. Seth Dawes will probably hurl for CHS this evening. GAHS will start either Nick Stevens or Shawn Thompson.
Hope the weather holds on tonight.

Paint Stadium would be a great place to hold the game... Hands down.......... The Gallipolis paper had GAHS listed as a 2 seed & Chilly listed as a 7.... Is this correct......... If so, why is the game being played at Chilly.. Use to be the top seed played at home........

Not anymore. Coaches hope to get that rule changed. Can't play at the Paint because it is playing host to the MAC tournament. Blue Devils were No. 3 seed. Warren was No. 2
Since Warren was upset by Chillicothe, Cavs get to host sectional finals.

MAC tournament is next week beginning the 21 and running through the 24. Should be some good action next week.

gahs: your comparing apples to oranges. That was a predetermined neutral site where both teams knew they were going to travel. The way the Sectionals are set up now in baseball makes no sense. If they are going to play on a teams high school field then it should be the higher seed hosting Period!

" The way the Sectionals are set up now in baseball makes no sense." Thanks Regulator, that was my point........ Thanks for correcting me 4ever........ LOL.... My main point being that the highest seed ought to have home field...... Football play-offs are a different animal........

Did the Gallipolis at Chillicothe game get postponed this evening? Rain held off all day in Gallipolis, then it poured from 3 until 3:30 p.m.

Game was suspended in top of 2nd w/ Gallia leading 7-6 in an old fashioned pitching duel....lol
They will be lucky to get this game in tomorrow ,it has rained and rained some more.
Paints open up at home this weekend before the MAC tourney . I'm not sure if the field would be open tomorrow to play this one,but it would be nice.

A very reliable source has just told me that this game will resume paly at the VA on saturday at 10 AM.
They will pick up from where they left off tonight as Gallia was up 7-6 with runners on first and third with 2 outs.

Gallia beat Chillicothe in a pitcher's duel, 14-13 in 10 innings, I believe.
