I guess we'll have to wait for that try at beating Jackson, because they used the sprinkles of rain as a ridiculous excuse so they won't have to take two "L's" from both Chillicothe and Waverly! :aaaaa8 Jackson got out of the beating Waverly was going to give them, but they can't run from Chillicothe! lol

Man Minford has had a knack for winning those 1 run games.

I heard there was some controversy in the Minford/West game. What exactly happened?

2 outs runner at 3rd for Minford, runner gets in a rundown and runs 6 foot out of base line and falls. gets tagged by catcher and field umpire calls her out.
Minford coach comes out saying 3rd base girl touched the runner on her way back to 3rd. home plate umpire agrees and awards runner home...WTF???
Home plate umpire has calls like this ever game.

Okay, I got the story. Apparently a Minford runner was caught in a rundown, and was tagged and called out. For whatever reason, the catcher threw the ball back to the third basemen, who applied another tag and knocked the runner down. Coach Messer came out and argued and the umps awarded the runner home plate.

Doesn't sound right to me.

Doesn't sound like Minford won the game fairly. Can games be disputed? Because this would be a very good candidate.

Do they have one ump that does the plate for the majority of there Home games.

west coach said messer told him was suppose to be merit and munn but for some reason had others. must have double booked!!!

A game decided by the ump not a very good way to win minford should be grateful for that ump

Guess you all was watching a different game. She wasn't 6 feet out of the base line and there was interference by the West players. The Umps made the call not the Minford coach. Stacy and Vickie are great umps. They umpire through out Scioto County and don't show favoritism. Also Minford umpires have been different for every home game. There is not one ump that does home games the majority of the schedule.

Sounds to me controversy follows the lady falcons. IMO there shouldn't have been a season for lady falcons. I'm not sure how so many travel ball families that are a part of the team were not aware of the pre-season rule when this rule is used so much in travel ball. Minfords coach is also very good at whining about almost every call. Ump, not a cool way to end the game.

It was a great game and both teams played hard. It was a call by the umpires that scored the only run of the game. Minford won but don't believe the umpires gave it to them.

I agree, this was a very good game played by two very competitive teams. Umps are apart of every sport and their is always someone unhappy about a decision made. However, it's just a game.. Minford and West are having good seasons. The Falcons won the game and with every winner there is a loser. Wish West the best of luck the rest of the season. I am proud of Minford and the season they are having too. Minford (14-4, 9-1SOCII) host Ironton tomorrow.
