Guess it's a good thing NONE of that matters come Friday night, Piketon is having internal issues and simply aren't on the same page. Waverly has way more speed and size at the skilled players than Piketon can handle across the board. Still going with running clock in this one, might be early 4th quarter but it happens.

Past 3 seasons would be the only ones that mattered since that would make them seniors this year.

Waverly does play a tougher schedule.

I went back the last 15 seasons because 2003 was Tyler’s first year.

0-3 last 3 seasons is the stat that is on those seniors mind. Everything else up until then is really just fluff.

I have been able to watch some of both teams scrimmages and just based off of that I believe this one could get ugly. Although, I wouldn't be totally shocked if this game stays within a touchdown or two all night. I think in order for Piketon to have a chance they will need to run the ball effectively and hope Shanks makes some mistakes since this will be his first varsity start. I think the secondary for Waverly is pretty good, and at times it seems Galloway telegraphs his throws. Waverly will probably try and get Shanks in a rhythm early by allowing him to make quick and easy throws. The guy who I believe could be the biggest nuisance for the Redstreaks is Shoemaker, the kid is a player! He runs the ball with purpose, seems to have good vision, breaks arm tackles, and can turn on the jets in the open field. He is also very nice on D, he doesn't seem like he misses many tackles.

He doesn’t really know anything. He’s just assuming. Been saying it all preseason so far but has nothing to back it up. Just the fact that a few kids decided not to play this year.

Coming from an outsider who has no true inside info on Piketon, I think their struggles the past few seasons aren't from internal issues. The past three seasons they have went a combined 15-15, so they haven't been terrible just not great. This is the same coaching staff for the most part that took the 2012 team to the playoffs. I would be curious to see if the numbers in their pee wee and jr. high programs have been declining. Just wondering where that drop off is happening at, is it that kids just aren't playing at all starting at the bottom or is it that once they get to high school they are choosing to not come out. It is common to see a program go thru a stretch of low numbers if they are stringing together a couple of seasons of not having a winning record. They have been competitive the past two seasons in the SVC tho, being 4-3 last year and 5-2 in 2016. They just have not had the athletes to compete with Waverly in recent seasons. Waverly was able to have a good season and get a home playoff game in 2016, which has contributed in a major way to the continued success from that point on. Winning, the new facilities and the strong community backing are the big reasons why the numbers are at a good level.

Pre-sale tickets are now available. Unless you enjoy standing in a long line for a long time you might want to think about getting your tickets early. :)

Weather forecast for Friday is as good as it gets. You just never know what will happen in a rivalry game. Turnovers and penalties are always a wild card that can swing a game. Hoping for an injury free game for both teams.

I called Waverly and they have them for sale. I would think Piketon would too but don't know for sure. Maybe Eagles73 could let us know? :)
