Yeah they definitely look tough, they kind of remind me of that good Coshocton team from a couple years ago. Although Coshocton was mostly a power running team and Ridgewood looks to have more of a passing threat.

Re: Who is best positioned to join Ironton/Wheelersburg?

Valley used to be that team, but they have fallen off in recent years. I remember a few years ago when they were in the state semis giving Kirtland a run for their money. Gallipolis is definitely able to make the playoffs every year (given their schedule and being in the OVC), but getting to the lev...

Re: Week 12: WOOD BURG

The Ridgewood v. Portsmouth Storied Rivals video just came out on Youtube. At the end of the video, the Ridgewood coach says Wheelersburg is their "arch-nemesis". Funny, but I don't think the Burg thinks of Ridgewood the same way.

Re: WK12: Wheelersburg v Ridgewood

Lol was there just 2 teams from Scioto county? And you are playing the team that beat the other Scioto county team. Not the point. Doesn't matter how many got in. It just that as usually the case, Wheelersburg is the last team from Scioto county playing football every year. Well ,when you have all ...

Hope it will be a competitive game, but I think Ridgewood will be too much for Burg.

Ironton by a lot. Amanda got crushed by Waverly, and Ironton is a better team than Waverly.

It's called the OVC. Other than Ironton, it's a bunch of cream puffs.

New Philly should be the place, but since their team is still in the playoffs they probably won't put the game there. Probably Dover.

Re: #7 Portsmouth Trojans(8-2) @ #2 Ridgewood Generals 10-0

I think this will be a rough one for the Trojans. Might be even worse than last year's playoff game against Madison.

If I'm the coach I give Parker the ball as much as he wants and see if he can pull off some magic in what might be his last game.

Re: 10-0 and sitting home. Two NWO teams are doing just that.

Honestly, after looking at Northwood's schedule, it's their own fault (or at least the athletic director). That schedule is charmin soft. Almost like they wanted to avoid competition. No Div. V school should have four Div. VII schools on their schedule, and they have three Div. VI schools on there a...

Re: WK: 11 Burg vs Minford

Agree that this will be a more lopsided affair. In the first game, Minford was undefeated and coming in with a lot of confidence. Since then, they have come down to earth with losses to Oak Hill and Waverly. And the game is at home for Burg, which is another advantage.

Re: Division V Final Four

I'll say Kirtland, Eastwood, Ridgewood, and West Jeff. Region 20 the hardest to pick because no team really stands out. Kirtland the favorite to win it all.

Re: West At Burg

If West loses tonight it will be the first time in a LOOOONNNNGGGG time, if ever they have gone a whole season without a conference win in football! This is true. And it will probably be the last for a long time. There were years in the late 90s that the only thing that kept that from happening was...

Re: What has happened to Notre Dame Football?

The best ND team that I remember was the 2000 team that went 10-0. I think they beat Minford and West that year also and won the SOC. They had some talented kids and made it to the second round of the playoffs if I remember correctly. But that was a long time ago and they have fallen off quite a bit...

Re: Ironton's Program - History

The '99 team beat Germantown Valley View, who were undefeated and favored to win state, at Cincinnati Princeton Stadium. Their qb was all-state. Valley View was up by 2 scores and right before half I think it was Jason Harmon put a hit on their qb that sent him to the bench for the rest of the game...

Re: Portsmouth (8-1) -vs- Ironton (8-1) OVC CROWN

As much as I want this to be a competitive game.... I just can't see it happening. Too much for the Trojans. Especially after what happened to Gallia last night. Maybe if it was week 1 it would be a different story, but it looks like Ironton has hit their stride and are playing their best football n...

They don't trust the kicker. He's missed too many.
