Re: D4 All District teams
Its a shame the process is what it is. I can say right now that some girls were left off this list that deserved to be recognized and some that are listed would not start on those said teams. But with teams being limited to 4 nominations it is what it is. The threads that have been going on the last...

Re: Early next season predictions.
East didn't show a lot at Jr High this year. But there's rumors of a Sr jumping ship and going to them to pitch. New Boston has a girl who will take a couple years. Green has a pitcher coming up, she handled the SOC1 teams in Jr High, got dominated by Burg, Welston and so on. I did see the Clay Fre...

Re: Early next season predictions.
I agree with SEOhio. Green may finish middle of the pack but not any higher. Somewhere around 4-6 position. Top two pitchers in the league next year will be Oliver and Schaffer from Clay and Notre Dame. Clay might have the third best pitcher in the league next year in a Freshman. Symmes Valley has ...

Re: Eligibility Question
Yeah Travel ball isn't what it use to be. Little league killed itself with too many rules and poor organization. You're absolutely right though travel ball sure isn't what it use to be. But it doesn't hide that anyway. When i registered my team a couple years ago they asked me if i was a type A or ...

Re: 2018 Season Stats
So using burg as an example...you don’t reward a kid for great play and hard work cause she transferred in? That’s crazy. Or Notre Dame who is a private school. Only reward kids in Portsmouth that go to school at Notre Dame? I’m done posting until the list is released. I feel like we are debating so...

Re: 2018 Season Stats
You may have 3 girls who deserve first team awards but only allowed 2. So that leaves out the one player who was also deserving who is probably better than half of the rest of the list. That’s all I was trying to say. Does it matter? No. Does it suck for that kid? I’m sure of it! That’s why I said ...

Re: 2018 Season Stats
I don’t care if you go to School in BFE. If your playing against teams that are in divisions higher than you and they are advancing in the playoffs then that .400 looks a whole hell of a lot better than someone hitting .500 against teams that are in lower divisions than u or bottom feeders. If you c...

Re: 2018 Season Stats
I said above if competition is equal or close to equal then it doesn’t matter. But in your example it does matter. At least it does this year.

Re: 2018 Season Stats
Same for a pitcher also. Someone that throws an ERA of 1.50 is not the same as someone that throws 2.50 against tougher competition.
Stats will look good for the pitcher against weaker competition but is she truly the better pitcher?

Re: 2018 Season Stats
Does a .400 hitter at Notre Dame deserve an award more than a .400 hitter at New Boston? Absolutely not Yes I believe it makes a difference. Not necessarily the school they play for but the competition they play. If someone is hitting .400 for a team that plays tough competition all year compared t...

Re: 2018 Season Stats
Limiting spots by team eliminates deserving players also. With the number of very good players on some teams some players will be left off while other others will receive an award who probably wouldn’t be able to start on those teams.
Might get reamed for that statement but it’s the truth.

Re: 2018 Season Stats
I said it once I'll say it again " you vote for mine I'll vote for your's" And there are fine , fine people coaching some of these teams but as a group I think they might want to consider a public vote so the " deal cutters " can be exposed . And hold the vote when all coaches c...

Re: Clay vs Strasburg Franklin- Regional Semi-Final 5/23
Don't know much about Strasburg but I feel good about Clay's chances. The girls have been playing good defense the last half of the season, hitting the ball hard and the pitching has been great with both pitchers. The team has came out strong the last couple of games. Lets hope they continue it on W...
