It's funny, I praise the guy and you criticize me and insinuate sarcasm cause I can't possibly be serious about his abilities, but you accuse me of having a problem with him. Whatever your beef is with him, or even if it's just your small man complex, you can leave me out of it. But I do agree that your efforts to trivialize his accomplishments are hilarious.BlizzardMan wrote: ↑Wed Mar 28, 2018 1:16 pmJim Ryan wrote: ↑Wed Mar 28, 2018 1:10 pmJust because you don't support him doesn't mean others don't. You certainly give yours whenever you want and cry when anyone questions you, so allow others to give theirs without criticism. Coach Bartrum is so deep into the football program (he truly is) there is no possible way he has any inkling of wanting to actually coach basketball. He may have friends he encourages to apply that he could use on his football staff, but in no way does he want to sacrifice from football to coach basketball. So who are actual people who would want this? It looks like somebody made their mind up on who's coming in already though seeing as how this hasn't been posted anywhere, not even within the district. Whatever the case, I just don't understand how losing Coach Fry benefits the program at all at this point.
You're trying to hard. Obviously you have a big problem with him, and so what if you do? I just think this is hilarious!

I don't have a problem with him in all seriousness. He's actually a very nice guy. He let's his opinions and desires be known, but you can't argue with the fact that the new field wouldn't exist without him and he is 100% in for the football program. I mean 100%. I do think he's wrong in this particular situation about Coach Fr. He does have a son that plays so he is entitled to an opinion, but I don't see how Coach Fry hurt the program at all.

Yeah, and nothing can be done about that. So stop dwelling on it. They have a chance to replace him with an even greater coach. So hire the man already.BlizzardMan wrote: ↑Wed Mar 28, 2018 1:29 pmYeah this is negative for the program. They lost a great coach.

This makes it sound like it's Hill or Drummond.Ballboy wrote: ↑Wed Mar 28, 2018 12:40 pmBlizzardMan, I think you are correct. I have a hard time understanding how losing Coach Fry benefits the program either, Coach Fry was recommended by Mike Bartrum in the beginning and then......... I too, think they have already made up their mind due to it not being posted. And if what I’m hearing who they are interested in is true, it will be interesting. But, you can’t believe everything you hear and rumors are certainly not reliable!!! Just because he hasn’t had success at one school doesn’t mean he can’t have success at another!BlizzardMan wrote: ↑Wed Mar 28, 2018 12:00 pm While it is funny reading all of the ridiculously over the top sarcastic posts and people biting by commenting on them, can we talk about people who might actually take the job? Hill would be great. Drummond is a mistake. Can't conduct himself off of the court.sandstorm23 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 28, 2018 1:38 pmThis makes it sound like it's Hill or Drummond.Ballboy wrote: ↑Wed Mar 28, 2018 12:40 pmBlizzardMan, I think you are correct. Re: Who will replace Ed Fry at Meigs?
My question is how does being the self proclaimed greatest linemen ever at RV qualify someone to have much of an opinion on who should be a basketball coach anywhere? And why does it make it ok for that person to maliciously discredit an obvious great coaching mind that may want the job. Back in the 50s and 60s schools hired a coach and that person coached everything. Seems to me Meigs Local would benefit greatly if the pro guy coached Football basketball and even baseball. So why are we waiting, give the man the jobsssssss.......

Yes I'm still waiting on the greatest lineman quote. I didn't say he couldn't coach basketball. Truthfully I don't know what he knows because I've never seen him coach basketball at all. Kinda makes it a jump to coach at the varsity level, but the point is he diesny even want it and saying he does makes him and the school look like bad conspirators. I really don't care who the next basketball coach is, but I do care that my friend Coach Fry had his tenure end on a sour note and he doesn't deserve that.MarauderMadness wrote: ↑Wed Mar 28, 2018 2:37 pm My question is how does being the self proclaimed greatest linemen ever at RV qualify someone to have much of an opinion on who should be a basketball coach anywhere? Anyhow, for the other rumored name who just "resigned" where he was, coach who has relations with players mothers probably doesn't need another coaching job as that's not really a behavior to be modeled for young men I wouldn't think.

He stepped down? I figured that might be the result of everything. Either step down or be fired type of situation.BlizzardMan wrote: ↑Wed Mar 28, 2018 2:52 pmYes I'm still waiting on the greatest lineman quote. I didn't say he couldn't coach basketball. I would like to see Bartrum take the Meigs Basketball job. He may be a great basketball coach. As long as he gives up football. If he can be above .500 he would be better at basketball than he has been in football. It may be a better fit for him.

Hell why don't we beg Coach Chancey? He's probably the best basketball player to ever play at Meigs.
