He had an injury that only could heal with a lot of time to heal. Hopefully he will be able to play next year. Tough injuryyabbadabbadoo wrote: ↑Thu Nov 21, 2019 4:45 pm

Wow, that's sad. I think he would have really helped this team a lot this year. Hopefully he is ready to go next season.

Reading this from last year you were right. Burg lost a lot of talent yet here they are back in a Regional semifinal game.
When you going to learn son, Burg don’t rebuild, they just reload and shoot right at ya!!!
Re: Week 12: WOOD BURG
anyone that watched last years team knew they really weren't very talentedyabbadabbadoo wrote: ↑Sun Oct 25, 2020 10:36 pm

Re: Week 12: WOOD BURG
Last year's team had a worse record because of the covid schedule this year and that last year they played a much tougher schedule with Hartley, Ashland, Ironton, and Jackson. Waverly was better this year. Put this team with last season's schedule and it looks the same. This is the game before the Regional Finals, the same game that Ridgewood beat them last year.yabbadabbadoo wrote: ↑Sun Oct 25, 2020 10:36 pm

Last year's team had a better player in Mathews, Horsely, Ruby, and a better line. They just didn't have the option of getting an experienced senior quarterback off the Waiver Wire like they did this year.

Agree, Ridgewood could win this by a running clock. Ridgewood had there way with Burg's secondary last year and no one in Burg's secondary has the speed that Matthews or Ruby has.SWHITE2002 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 26, 2020 7:04 amLast year's team had a worse record because of the covid schedule this year and that last year they played a much tougher schedule with Hartley, Ashland, Ironton, and Jackson. Now now.... nowhere in my post did I say Burg wouldn't be good this year. I just said it would be an interesting year since they lost their 3 best skill positional players.yabbadabbadoo wrote: ↑Sun Oct 25, 2020 10:36 pm

Lattimore has blossomed quicker than anticipated, and getting an experienced senior playmaker at QB move in also helps the healing process of losing Horsley
Burg is better than I thought they would be, yes, but by no means did I think they'd be "bad." They did lose the SOC for once though, so in some eyes maybe they are a little down? (Personally I just think Waverly is very very good this season).
Burg vs. Ridgewood will be an awesome game. A lot of you burg folk say your team is better this year and last year. Well you may be right! Because Ridgewood has nearly the exact same team as last year and will be facing Burg for the 2nd straight season. They got ya'll last year, but if your team is better this year than you have a shot at winning and moving on!
I for one would LOVE to see a Burg/Ironton game in the Regional Final. That would be awesome!

SMH with these analysts. Burg wasn’t beat by speed in the secondary. They were beat in the secondary because they were completely out of position. Some of that was because they had to frequently help in the run game last year and got burned on their own aggressiveness. Furthermore, burg couldn’t pass last year making burg one dimensional. Not moving the ball puts more pressure on the defense. The Regulator wrote: ↑Mon Oct 26, 2020 8:41 amAgree, Ridgewood could win this by a running clock. Two things that are different this year.
1. Burg can throw
2. Two they are better stopping the run with their front 6,which allows the defense to be better against the pass.
Not saying that translates in a win but burg is way better equipped to win this game as proven with their showing against Waverly.

Noone on Wheelersburgs team is even close to Matthews on offense or defense.
Horsley was a way better linebacker than any they have now.
Wheelersburg is stopping the run well, but alot of that is because except for the Waverly game, they have been stacking 8 in the box most of the time . When they went softer against Waverly, Waverly ran well against them but Waverly isn't a running team and the quarterback isn't near as mobile.
Look how effective EVL from Minford was against them, because that is the way to attack Wheelersburg. They aren't gonna let you run the middle consistently, but the way they align they struggle to contain speed, especially at quarterback
Re: Week 12: WOOD BURG
Completely disagree with everything you said, except the Matthews comment and QB point. The Matthews replacement is solved. Burg putting up as many if not more production this year and defensively been overall better. Burg will be concerned about woods QB. The EVL is a spot on comparison. Tingle is a big time player and will give any team fits.SWHITE2002 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 26, 2020 11:13 amCouple things.wobycat wrote: ↑Mon Oct 26, 2020 9:10 am SMH with these analysts. Look we can go back and forth all day but my view is burg is a better team this year and better equipped to win.

Re: Week 12: WOOD BURG
I think 20 and 26 have done just as good if not better as horsley did at linebacker last year, and while the Burg might've lost some speed in the secondary, this year's defensive backs are way better at reading the balls and playing defense as a whole. I would rather see 4,3, and 12 this year then 10, 2, and 25 from last yearSWHITE2002 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 26, 2020 11:13 amCouple things.wobycat wrote: ↑Mon Oct 26, 2020 9:10 am SMH with these analysts. Re: Week 12: WOOD BURG
The 2017 Burg team was, as far as I have watched and kept up with, the best team from that area. I remember their comebacks along the way, which I think is great and really helped them when they had to dig deep but I remember them very balanced, could beat you passing it or pounding it at you on the ground and a very nasty defense. It would have been fun to play them had we been in D5 that year. That was the year we got spanked by the best small school football team that I have ever seen
