Zanesville high school may have a new field, but they are not the host site. OHSAA uses Gant. Kind of like what they do in Chillicothe and V.A. Memorial Stadium.

Re: Regionals at SEHS.
Gant has been a dump for years
Re: Regionals at SEHS.
They quit using Gant Stadium a few years ago. Regionals are at OU now.
Re: Regionals at SEHS.
Probably not this year
Re: Regionals at SEHS.
LOL, my guess is they would complain about that too.formerfcfan wrote: ↑Thu Feb 25, 2021 1:04 amI suppose the East District would prefer to be slotted into the regional harboring the Northeastern part of the state going forward?
Re: Regionals at SEHS.
After Dewine's announcement last week, there is no more 300 limit. Indoor venues are limited to 25% capacity. Previously, it was 15% or 300, whichever was less.

What is the capacity of SEHS? If it is 2,000, they can allow 500 in for each of the regional games.

Actually that is NOT just yet. Still have to social distance and there are still not guidance as to what this will look like from the Governors office. 25% will need to be met with social distancing and will be up to local health departments and host facilities.4thgoal wrote: ↑Mon Mar 01, 2021 11:40 am After Dewine's announcement last week, there is no more 300 limit. Re: Regionals at SEHS.
So, if East Liverpool would have won the East District, they would have had to travel over 200 miles to play! That's ok? I understand this is not a normal year but that's crazy.
I'm not complaining because there are only so many options, just pointing out he has a good argument for this year.
Re: Regionals at SEHS.
Yes, and the 25% was just signed by the department of health, could go into effect tomorrow, will be up to individual sites as to what they allow, 15%-25% or somewhere in between.
Re: Regionals at SEHS.
East district teams are home for every top seed throughout the entire district tournament
Re: Regionals at SEHS.
Neutral sites in the past.

Re: Regionals at SEHS.
They are still neutral sites, but the who is home vs. away on the bracket in the regional, is done by a pill draw back in the fall.
Re: Regionals at SEHS.
Pills have nothing to do with seeding anymore. Coaches vote the seeds for every team in their district. Most districts have home team being the higher seed throughout the districts. A couple districts have neutral sites in the districts. All regional games will be at neutral sites.
Re: Regionals at SEHS.
Not true..higher seeds are hosting in districts this year.
Re: Regionals at SEHS.
With games at OHIO, the travel was very little difference.BobcatQB wrote: ↑Tue Mar 02, 2021 8:01 amSo, if East Liverpool would have won the East District, they would have had to travel over 200 miles to play! That's ok? I understand this is not a normal year but that's crazy.

Speaking of Regionals, not districts.
Re: Regionals at SEHS.
