Thanks smurray for looking into this for me - as I said it is a good cause to contribute to , I see the rest of the "band of brothers - officiating crews" and have thought about Matt all 3 evenings I've watched games ... he is missed is an understatement ...

Getting anxious to get this season underway! For those at the Piketon scrimmage, how did the supporting cast look? Specifically Stulley, Will, and Morrison?

Supporting cast looked good for pre season form. Stulley is as solid as ever. Can handle the ball and run the offense extemely well and can score when presented the opportunity including from 3 point range. He will set the tone defensively with his full court pressure, he’s relentless. I thought Will looked good, finished well around the rim and he can/will shoot it from 3 if he’s open. He did a great job defensively on the glass and applying pressure and contesting shots. Morrison didn’t look too bad for his first varsity showing with a bigger crowd present. I think he has some learning to do, but with his athleticism he will be a very nice piece once he gets comfortable. He can shoot it from deep and I think he could become a contributor when he gains confidence. Honestly everyone who came in looked good. Wade Futhey played well and hit some 3s. He can light it up when he gets hot. Hudson Kelly moved from pg to forward and I think that will really improve his game. Braylon Robertson came off the bench and showed why he will be playing varsity only, the dude can ball. As a freshman, he will be one of the better players on the floor each night.

Overall, I think if Waverly is able to stay healthy they will be an absolute force. Wishing we were all packing it in tomorrow night at Wheelersburg to watch them square off against the Tigers, but will have to wait another month for that.

Thanks for the rundown. I think coach Robertson has had these kids tracking their shots in the offseason into the 1,000's and its paying off along with the football programs conditioning. Perfect storm for a special season.

Wasn’t able to make the scrimmage last night against Portsmouth but heard the Tigers looked good. Maybe someone from Portsmouth can share what they thought….

12-07-21
Game one for the Tigers, a 67-29 win over the visiting Mohawks of Northwest High School.
Waverly jumped out to a 13-0 lead before Northwest called timeout with 3:43 in the quarter. Waverly lead 19-3 after one.
The Tigers took a 36-13 lead into the locker room. Trey Robertson with 13 at the break, Morrison with 7 off the bench.
After a running clock started in the 3rd Waverly lead 55-21 at the end of three, Trey Robertson with three 3’s and an old fashion 3 in the period.
Tigers with 12 points in the 4th, subbing out starters.

Trey Robertson 28 points
Will Futhey 16 points
Penn Morrison 7 points
Mark Stulley 5 points
Hudson Kelly 5 points
Wade Futhey 4 points
Bray Robertson 2 points

I don’t keep track of assists and rebounds but I’m sure there were some nice stats there.

Tigers travel to Minford Friday night and then to SSU Saturday at 4:00 to take on Vision Prep out of Lexington Kentucky.
