Hahahaha you're funny. After watching some summer ball, I would count Meigs out of the TVC-Ohio

Since losing Brinager, they were struggling... Davis has no one to help him.

The Hocking will be interesting, IMO. Most will pick Southern to win but there are talented and capable teams. Eastern has talent, Belpre is always a wildcard, Waterford should be improved after playing younger players, and Fed Hock will be on the rise but young. And I think Trimble will struggle. This could lead to a lot of splits in the matchups giving each team multiple losses. If one of those teams can avoid some of those slip ups it will win the league. I guess it will be a question of who do you the most faith in during tight games. Southern, Eastern/Waterford, Belpre, Fed Hock, Trimble.

If Southern has multiple losses in that conference I will be totally shocked. They just have too much talent.

I agree 100%. I actually think Southern runs the table in the league and the others will have multiple losses. 2nd place team may have 4 or even 5 league losses which is a toss up for me between Eastern and Waterford.

this season might be one of the more balanced ones the hocking conference has seen in a while.
• Southern: Getting Brinager back changes things a lot. He’s talented and can definitely take over games, but there’s only one ball. Chemistry between him and Chandler will make or break them — if they can mesh, they’re the clear favorite. If not, it could get messy late in games. Chandler’s leadership might be key in keeping them grounded.
• Eastern: Losing Murphy hurts, but they’re so fundamentally sound that they’ll still be dangerous. Their spacing, ball movement, and team defense are what keep them in games. They don’t beat themselves, which can frustrate flashier teams like Southern.
• Waterford: Pennock being out (especially if it lingers into basketball) is big — he’s that steady guard presence they’ll need with so much size inside. Fairchild and Heiner can control the paint, though. If they can rebound and protect the rim like they did last year — but now with more maturity — they’ll be a handful. If their guards settle in early, they could challenge for the title.
• Belpre: Always scrappy, — no matter who they lose, they just find ways to stay competitive. They can sneak up on teams that overlook them.
• Federal Hocking: A young team that could play spoiler later in the year once they get their footing. Not enough experience to make a deep run, but enough energy to cause upsets.
Trimble will be the dark horse in the division. You just never know who’s going to show up. jaczyk is good, but I don’t know that he has the support around him to carry the team all year long.

Southern–Waterford–Eastern top 3 makes a lot of sense right now.
If chemistry issues hit Southern, Waterford might have the best balance of size and discipline to take the top spot by season’s end.

The Ohio division should be fun this year.

I think NY has the opportunity to win the TVC for the first time since 1996. Meigs, Athens, and Vinton County will all be tough. It’s been a while since the winner of the TVC Ohio had 3 losses and that may just be the case this season. Alexander, Wellston and River Valley will all look to play spoiler and can beat anyone on any night, imo, in this conference. This should be a fun season with no true pre season powerhouse predicted to roll the conference.

I agree! NY is going to have multiple weapons after hearing the news that Wheatley (Athens Junior) is transferring to NY. Should be a good year for basketball!

NY is always athletic and gives teams in the TVC Ohio fits. They haven’t always been the most consistent though. I think with the addition to what is already a solid team, with a great coach, leads to the pre season favorite imo. The only thing that could set NY back is a continued run in football. It should be a fun year in the Ohio Division!

Since losing Brinager, they were struggling... Davis has no one to help him.
And Brinager was Meigs' best player last year, so there's that.

NY will be mix for sure. 2 good seniors, a couple of juniors and atleast 2 sophomores that got minutes last year at varsity will help, along with the transfer, assuming that's true. Can it happen for the first time since 1997?

With all of the stuff going on at Ironton, I’ll be the one to ask: is his transfer legit? Didn’t he already transfer out of Southern to Meigs before?
