pfloyd- Easton Large is 6’4”-6’5” yes he a freshman. Very good and coachable kid, has nice touch for his size and can handle the ball well. He’ll definitely help out the Jeeps inside and is very able to give them 15+ points a game. I look for this Jeeps squad to surprise a few people, but SOC 3 will a dog fight every game.pfloyd wrote: Wed Nov 12, 2025 1:18 pm... ... I watched the South Webster @ Meigs scrimmage last night on hudl - I really like what Easton Large brings to the table! - 6-5 size with good footwork for a freshmen, HE'S A LEFTY!!! - which imo is a big advantage in the painted area - scores on the blocks going either direction, rebounds at both ends of the floor , he knocked down a lefthanded triple as well - AND he didn't look out of place in the varsity game ... AND DID I MENTION HE'S A LEFTY!!! ... he's a post player! lots of upside having that kind of size 6-5 with bulk IN THE PAINT ... I had the Jeeps varsity with a 68-60 advantage for the scrimmage while the 2nd string wasn't close 46-11 SW ... the Jeeps do Jeep things - they play defense, take advantage of their quickness, I want to see them go up against some size and have to play in the half court ... Barnard the elder, Barnard the younger, McClintic are solid, Large will be a BIG asset in that will allow them to get the ball down low - he can score with it for sure - but even more having that size IN THE PAINT will allow the SW perimeter scorers to be jus that scorers - I like what I saw out of the Jeeps !!! they will definitely be moving up the rankings probably would have been ok to have them in that 15-20 preseason slot ...JeepNation26 wrote: Wed Nov 12, 2025 2:27 pmpfloyd- Easton Large is 6’4”-6’5” yes he a freshman. Defensive was solid as always even with the 5 new starters. Be interested to see if the lineup changes any throughout the scrimmages but I think this Warren team could be 8-9 deep again.

Webster beats Meigs 68-60……… Says A LOT. Puts SW right back on the map and proves that they not only can compete for another run but shows that they should be in the mix for the conference. I have zero idea who will win that league at this point. Especially after Waverly just split with Harvest Prep in their latest scrimmage.
Guessing:
Waverly 7-3
Valley 6-4
West 5-5
Webster 4-6
Burg 3-7

I think Vinton County has a good opportunity to finish higher than 41st. This is (from what I can remember) the lowest VC has been in the rankings. VC has been a top 3 team in the TVC in almost every year since the early 2000’s. They also have an average of over 15 wins a year in that time frame. Coach Kight has won two TVC titles in his 3 years of coaching. I like their odds of improving from 41st.
2023 Football Pick’em Regular season and Playoff Champion.

… I have no doubt that Coach Kight & staff will have the Vikings right in the hunt in the TVC … Warren is in the same situation as the Warriors list the entire rotation of 1-9 … 98% of their scoring, 98% of this year’s team without varsity experience…Dundas wrote: Mon Nov 17, 2025 8:27 pm I think Vinton County has a good opportunity to finish higher than 41st. … what size does VC have this season ? … usually VC has perimeter scorerS … defense has always been good under Coach Kight … I too look for VC to be moving up …

Less than a week until tip-off!!! I’m looking at 18 games in the first 3 days of hoops action that I’ll be taking in , getting eyes on teams - gotta love the multi game classics ! Zane Trace Tip Off Classic and Warren’s Clash at the Coliseum…
Re: Pfloyd's Elite 8 of Southern/SouthEast Ohio- Preseason Edition has dropped 10/31 @ 8pm
... the first Official Regular Season Rankings will be out on the weekend of Dec. 7th - following the first FULL week of games ... gives almost all of the teams an opportunity to get a game played ... some teams will already have 3-4 games played after a week and a half of action ... so the committee of one - me - will meet, consult the Ouija Board, and put out the 1st rankings of the 2025-26 season Sunday Dec 7th @ 8p ...

Eastern Brown 32-15 over Leesburg Fairfield. In the SHAC preview. I don't have official stats, but junior Chase Pinkerton had 10 points in a nice game for the Warriors. My biggest takeaway was the defense. Eastern lost about 17 ppg when Grady Barber transferred out, some nice balance in scoring, with several in the points column. But the Warriors defense was relentless. They forced between 7-9 turnovers in this 2 quarter match up. General consensus was Faurfield will be the team at the top in the SHAC this year, especially after the loss of Barber. But coach Beucler seems to have sculpted a team in his image once again, defense, unselfish play, and fundamentals. Fairfield will be fine. Still anyone's game On any given night. The junior and freshman Florence brothers might be a secret sauce that could pay offensive dividends. Nice game, and looking forward to a fun season.

Trying to figure out if Peebles was that stellar or if North Adams just payed discombobulated.
Re: Pfloyd's Elite 8 of Southern/SouthEast Ohio- Preseason Edition has dropped 10/31 @ 8pm
Peebles sophomores and Jrs worked really hard this summer and are fitting in well with the Senior. Peebles is very young and the 2 freshmen tonight ,are our biggest players. I believe by Tourny time they will be a big difference.WonderNova wrote: Fri Nov 21, 2025 10:15 pm Trying to figure out if Peebles was that stellar or if North Adams just payed discombobulated.

whiteoak 26- West Union 9
Ripley 23- Manchester 10
Fayetteville 30- Lynchburg 21
Peebles 34-NA 11
Eastern 32-Fairfield 15.
As for the games, just my 2 cents.
Whiteoak looked very strong, thought West Union probably went deeper in the bench than they will actually go but thats a common trend in these things. Whiteoak shot the ball well, and were on point, especially for a team learning a new system. Ripley looked much improved and appear to have great size, I will be interested to see how they will handle pressure, I do not think Manchester showed their hand, Kingsolver does a really nice job, so the hounds will definitely look different when they roll out the balls after the regular season lights come on. Fayetteville was Fayetteville, well coached, runs their offense with precision, unselfish and well defined within their respective roles, the big guy has improved his game with back to the basket, basically your typical Joe B Stewart team. Both Fayetteville and Lynchburg played all of their guys and the mustangs even platoon subbed, which I highly doubt will be in the cards come regular season, but they do have some solid depth, they looked way better vs Portsmouth earlier in the week I'm told. I will be interested to see just how deep they go once the lights come on, they must get better defensively, this plagued them last season, especially early on. The team I was impressed the most with was Peebles, the Indians looked sharp and shot the ball pretty well. North Adams has a lot of guys stepping into new roles, and any time you have new guys playing in front of a crowd of that size, even in a preview there will be some adjustment time. Eastern was also a team that looked pretty sharp, however, knowing Williams, I do not believe I have ever seen a game, despite the preview where he remains seated for the duration of the game, which I think speaks to the level of importance he sees in the preview. The big at Eastern is going to be a load, I liked what they did with the 2-3 zone, I look for Buechler to look to control the pace this season, another strong season for Eastern looks imminent.

They've all stepped up this summer and believe. 7 of those lil fellas can flush the rock including one of the freshman. If they can pick up their defense a bit they can shine , I believe. I believe coach is gonna be able to play 8-9 players this year.pfloyd wrote: Sat Nov 22, 2025 10:50 pm...
