The whole darn town of Ironton can go to hell!! They get caught cheating, all organized and handled by their football coach/AD yet they feel the are moral compass of high school sport!! F#*k Ironton!! Every local school should remove them from their schedules at every level in every sport for boys and girls!! A whole town of ass-holes!!

After viewing last nights game. This Lady Trojan basketball could be a wonderful team to watch. Unfortunately the coach has zero class and control of her team. Last nights game was clearly a prime example of an out of control classless basketball program. It appeared there was administrative staff there from Portsmouth that witnessed the behaviors from the players and lack of control on both the coaches and players. Portsmouth has every chance to win state again back to back. But when you play the type of out of control behavior basketball there is always a risk of losing control of emotions. Portsmouth had the W before the 1st quarter was over. Is there really any point of blowing a team out the way they did. If that is what you have to do as a team then do it with class. Not with classless sportsmanship. This reflects the leadership of the school and coaches and administration. Go Eagles!

Give me a break, Ironton is just that bad. Portsmouth could have scored more if they wanted to. It was a running clock, what do you want them to do? Come up the court and just stand there, maybe give Ironton the ball, cut them a break? Ironton football showed no mercy to Portsmouth football over the last 5-6 years and that’s okay. But when Portsmouth has a state level team they just have to lay down because the opponents aren’t as good? Cry some more

I don’t have a dog in the fight not from either school matter of fact. I go and watch good local talent all over the tri state. All I am saying if your a championship program act like one. But this wasn’t even just the ball club. This was the players, coaches, spectators from Portsmouth. They all acted ridiculous. Yes you can come down shoot all outside shots pass the ball around. You don’t have to drive and score. Can’t change my view of the poor sportsmanship.

Oh okay you want them to take 3’s and possibly make them to run the score up even higher, that makes sense.

Portsmouth girls basketball is in great hands, one of best Coaching staffs in State, no matter what is said here. They have 6players that are top tier in state and hold a team to 1 field goal and 2 free throws and people want them to just stand and show no emotion. Wow, and the school system they was playing was banned from playoffs from cheating and there football teams piling up points on local teams. How does that look for Ironton., to me crying and whining from fans and outsiders that a group of high school girls shows the highest level of skills in high school. Then to attack a school adminstration because they apparently never liked Portsmouth teams. What about the other schools adminstration that has been caught cheating in football! I watched a video of game and saw the Coaches taking care of a incident and helping get girl off court, saw nothing but a class move to me and no one knows which side started that incident. Portsmouth Girls and Coaches keep on showing a class program that lets the girls play and show there emotions. Good Luck in future!

RZA, The real world hey! 1 girl has signed with Ohio University, 1 girl has signed with Shawnee State, last year 1 girl is playing at Georgetown University and is tearing it up another girl is playing for Shawnee State now. I predict in next two years the other 4 girls willl be playing college ball. That’s the real world they will be in ,getting a higher education. I say people just don’t like the fact they play with fire, passion and show there emotions, you can call it the way you see it but I say Good Luck to the Trojans!

There’s no way that we should justify the behavior by arguing over cheating adults. Our girls continue to get a bad rap for things they don’t deserve. There are tons of rumors going around about them that aren’t true such as they’re getting arrested, pregnant, etc.. I’m not sure why people can’t just realize these girls come from a tough upbringing and this is their release and support them. All the haters trying to hold us down. Go Trojans!!!!

So it’s okay when a baseball player hits a home run and his teammates on base wait for him at home plate and they celebrate. It’s okay when a football player scores and they celebrate, or the defense gets turnover and they all run to the other endzone and pose. It’s okay when a basketball player drains a 3 and they put up the fingers. But it’s not okay when a teenage girl dances the last 5 seconds of a game that her team dominated their rival? It’s not like she was giving Ironton players the bird and cussing. She did a goofy little dance or a flip because she’s a hell of a basketball player and her team just whooped the other teams ass. She could be out here slinging drugs or in a gang, instead she’s on the basketball court paving a future for herself. You guys are just pathetic crybabies. Want to jump on a chat board or social media to constantly criticize and critique children because you don’t like something they did, something that isn’t illegal, racist, sexist, harmful or so on. Fighting is one thing, #5 was ejected for what she did, even though on video you can clearly see Ironton wasn’t innocent in that, but to be this upset about fans cheering, and a player dancing at the END of the game is crazy and shows your insecurities.

Portsmouth 48 Reynoldsburg 34. Game played up in Columbus after watching a replay of game, Reynoldsburg is a Div 1 highly thought of team with very good size, great outside shooting team. My take after watching this game is Portsmouth is every bit as good as billed and there Defense is even better than last year, it was suffocating . One of Portsmouth's main starters didn't play but gained another main player back in the Shannon girl. S Allen and K Woods are unstoppable on offense, KK Mays was a beast on the boards and is one tough player, Salem Allen plays lockdown defense and Sky Mays has a sweet shot and is a tough defensive player, Shannon is all around player that can score and play D. Defense is on another level for high school. Coach's for Portsmouth has taught these girls the game, how to play the game the right way! Like I have said they are top notch for the Portsmouth school system. I believe now Portsmouth will have roster of 7-8. By the way Reynoldsburg was way more physical to Portsmouth and Portsmouth pushed thru with there D.

Is there bad blood between Coach Amy (former coach at Ironton)? 91-4 is pretty ridiculous. And to see Portsmouth still shooting 3-pointers in the 4th quarter does, in my opinion, point directly at the coaching.

I get tired of people complaining about a team that wins by a large margin and yet feels sorry for the losing team. How about the losing team getting out in the offseason to work on their game? What some on here may not realize is that the Portsmouth girls program took their lumps for a long time and nobody on here had a problem with it. Many, many games in which the Lady Trojans were completely blown out by 40-50 points, or even more; some of those games involved Ironton beating Portsmouth. Didn't hear anybody feeling sorry for the Lady Trojans back then.

So how did this once moribund program turn around? Simple, there were girls over the last few years that decided to make themselves good basketball players, so they made a commitment to work hours on end to see that what happened in previous years wasn't going to happen to them. Add to that a coaching staff that demands hard work and nothing less than that. And they were rewarded with the fruits of their labor.......tying Fairland for the OVC title 2 years ago, making the Final 4, then winning the OVC outright last season, culminating with a State Championship last March.

These are teenage girls who at times express their emotions outwardly. I guess some feel they should act like robots and if they show the slightest bit of emotion for the fans to see it is disrespectful to the other team. I attend a lot of the Lady Trojans games and what they do is being overblown in many cases. These girls are not perfect, so they shouldn't be held to that standard.

Keep doing what you're doing, Lady Trojans. Success breeds hatred by some.

Brianna Shannon is back on the team after a brief break. With her back, the Lady Trojans now have 8 girls. Shannon is a very important player as she gives Portsmouth much needed depth. She was a part time starter last season, and has a nice all around game. She scored in last year's state tournament.

The Lady Trojans currently have 2 seniors (Allen and KK Mays), 3 juniors (Shannon, Woods, and Carter), 2 sophomores (Sky Mays, Salem Allen), and 1 freshman (Whitt). Allen is headed to play at Ohio University, while KK Mays will play for Shawnee State.

The Junior High Lady Trojans are currently undefeated and play at home tonight, starting at 6PM.

Sienna Allen scored 32 points vs. Ironton while KeKe Woods added 31. Both have been added to the 30 points club on www.trojanhoops.org.

Cincytiger, For your information Portsmouth only shot two 3 pointers in 4th quarter and no 3 pointers with under 4 minutes left both by a sophomore. By the way Coach Hughes wasn't telling players to keep scoring. So Portsmouth steals the ball about every time down in 4 th quarter, you tell players just stop and give ball back to other team and steal it right back and keep doing that the rest of game. No! Portsmouth is a high intensity team and I believe haters going to hate on Portsmouth! Like TrojanDave said get better to other teams! Look at football and softball , does the state champs in those sports tell there players to strikeout or not try to scoreor not to keep scoring touchdowns! Look at softball scores and football scores from Wheelersburg and Ironton last few years, I didn't see people calling out Coach's from those teams from wipeout scores! by the way Portsmouth only had 5 players no subs that game, Portsmouth is extremely well conditioned and gives 110 percent as any team with high expectations!

Si many crying ass cry babies, I guarantee these girls on this team and all the coaches are nothing but class ,but when you get attacked and someone puts their hands on you you are going to react its just nature none of you that are on here whining would take it either.

Plenty of vedio floating around of how it all went down even ohsaa has it. The ref from " ironton" even seen it but called it completely different then how it happened.

Every girl on this team is great "student" athletes ,yes just as good students in the classroom as on the basketball floor so take your hate to another thread and stop stressing over a team you hang interest in.


Get used to it because theirs a lot more coming up from.lower levels thats going to continue the great success you are seeing now.
