Biggdowg, This is best post I've read on here, spot on! I was thinking the exact thinking about Fauirlands win of 80-10. I saw no bashing of classless behavior, bashing head Coach, bashing there school administration either. Portsmouths players are smart in the class room, play with CLASS and will do great in life with educational opportunities ahead for all these highly skilled Trojans! When your elite in anything , everyone taking shots at team and Coach's. I expect there long standing beefs here from some posters. If Portsmouths player was ejected, should been same for other player involved, my opinion.

I watched the entire game. Portsmouth pressed zero times and Ironton had over 40 turnovers-many live ball that led to lay-ups, which other than pulling the ball out couldn’t be helped. Ironton shot many threes which led to long rebounds and easy layups. Though I don’t like shooting 3’s when up by a large margin-the Trojans didn’t do anything else I’d question.

The Fairland team, or their coach, showed no classless behavior during or after the game. Maybe that’s why you didn’t hear about it. I watched the game against Rock Hill and didn’t see a thing. I have no idea who was at fault in Portsmouth and ironton game. I wasn’t there. If you saw something classless at the Fairland game I’m sure the coach would do his best to fix it.

I didn't see this game but there were several games last year where Portsmouth could have easily done this or worse but they sat on the ball for 20-30 before initiating the offense. They had a few 25-30 points wins that could have been 50 or more even in the playoffs.

I was there and didnt see anything that would be considered classless behavior from the coach or players . Youre getting beat that bad , its easy to lose composure but neither team did .

I find it compelling that in recent years these issues that get exasperated go like this: Portsmouth & Ironton, Coal Grove & Ironton, Wheelersburg & Ironton, Rock Hill & Ironton, Pikeville & Ironton. Anyone else seeing the pattern? It seems to always be _______ (fill in the blank) & Ironton, at least to me. And I know this, that big "I" doesn't stand for Integrity.

And by the way, I hope to see Portsmouth and Fairland both have great post season runs again this year...

Not even gonna say what I thought about Portsmouth's actions other than this. It is good its early in the season and just maybe they can get control of themselves. These team has the ability to make it very far and a good chance at another state title. That is if once they get in tight games they can control their selves. Doesn't matter who starts what but I could see a team seeing this weakness and pushing Portsmouth players to react. It's already going to be a tough year having to stay out of foul trouble due to the bench. As talented as this team is, once tournament time comes they will only be one bad choice away from ending that run.

Biggdowgg: You made some very good points with your post. Good that you included that the Lady Trojans are excellent student-athletes in the classroom. Last year's State Champions had a combined GPA of 3.9.

Tonight Coach Amy Hughes can reach a milestone in her PHS coaching career. With a win vs. Coal Grove, Amy will have achieved her 100th win. Her career record at Portsmouth coming into tonight is 99-63, with 2 Final 4's and a State Championship.

I wasn't saying fairland girls or coaches showed any classless i was insinuating that fairland won big just as portsmouth did. The girls was having fun just as the portsmouth girls did , when a scuffle happens every involved looks bad no.matter who started it.

The same people dogging the Trojan girls is the same people that come on portsmouth threads to hate all the time.

Talked with fairland coach a few times ,doesn't seem like a classless person at all to me.

I. Done on this subject and going to let Trojandave get back to keeping it updated, with scores schedules etc.

Dave ,I want to mention another thing about our girls .
So far off last years state championship, 2 girls are playing at the next level.

Daysha Reid, at Georgetown KY.
Savanna controller @ shawnee state

2 other girls committed already
S.ALLEN ohio university
KK Mays Shawnee state

And. Haven Carter has a list of colleges showing interest, so she is definitely going somewhere to play when she decides, and im sure the other girls will get some offers when they are juniors.

So these girls are far from trouble, or thugs like was said before, before they removed it.

Like I said take the hate somewhere else

Congratulations to Coach Amy Hughes on reaching 100 victories as Lady Trojans HC. (100-64).

Cincinnati Mt.Notre Dame coming to Trojan Arena on Saturday, and they're bringing a lot of size......6-4, 6-4, 6-3, 6-2. From what I understand they received a couple of transfers from the Cincinnati area. Mt.ND handed the Lady Trojans their only defeat of last season (27-1) with a 54-47 win @Mt.ND, but PHS held a lead with just 3 minutes to play.

Hayven Carter played last night and it was the right thing for her suspension to be reduced. Also good to see our bench get to play a lot of minutes.

Game will be streamed by SOSA for those who can't make it, as will the Fairland game on Tuesday as well.

Thanks for the info, danicalifornia.......should have a big crowd at Trojan Arena for this one, and vs. Fairland on Tuesday.

The Portsmouth boys play Racine Southern at 2:00 PM on Saturday at the 740 tournament at Shawnee State.

KeKe Woods and Hayven Carter look to be the next 1,000 point scorers in Lady Trojan history. Coming into this season, Woods had 568 points while Carter came in with 554 points. They have both started since they were freshmen. Sienna Allen has already passed the 1,000 point mark, and last season Daysha Reid joined the 1,000 point club.

Woods had a 31 point game vs. Ironton, and 19 vs. Chesapeake. Carter tallied 21 vs. Chesapeake.

Now they need to suspend the ref that tried to cheat a kid out of 4 games and let him see what it feels like and teach him not to do it to other kids that come to ironton
