Where’s the outrage now?
Where’s the outrage now?
Where’s the outage today? Following the Fairland Girls 90-8 win over the Ironton Girls. Ironton scored all 8 points in the first half holding them scoreless in the second half so obviously they kept up effort on defense….
Why were the Portsmouth players and coaches ridiculed so harshly on here yet for Fairland it’s crickets. I have a feeling I can pinpoint it but, who knows.

There's the BURG....then there's everyone else!

I'd also like to add that hayven Carter suspension was reduced from 4 games to 2 because video evidence she did NOT HROUGH A PUNCH like was reported!
Nice try by the ironton official just makes you look even more bias then everyone already suspected.

Re: Where’s the outrage now?
I believe the outrage was because of some perceived "classless" behavior on Portsmouths behalf , be it the players , coach or whoever . Did it happen ? beats me , I wasnt there . I think thats what upset some people , the score was just icing on the cake . Keep in mind , the OVC girls are terrible this season , other than Portsmouth and Fairland , theres nobody . Fairland beat Ironton 90-8 , they also beat SP 79-14 and RH 88-10 . The Portsmouth and Fairland scores this season are going to be very lopsided until they play each other .

Re: Where’s the outrage now?
I watched the tape and if anything the Coach help remove player off floor and showed class by making sure nothing else occurred and as far as her telling players to stop and don't play , thats not a classless move to let them play when there's complete layins and a running clock in second half. If not for that it would been 100-110 points. The player that did a flip with 5 seconds has flipped all last season and shows her passion and attitude toward complete team victory with only 5 players. She even flipped in last years championship game. I read nothing of people complaining over this. Its youthful expression and I say keep it up have fun and these grown people complaining over any little thing to make Portsmouth look and sound bad. Just because people say you should behave this way and that way, tell them to get a life and go watch something else to make rude comments about! Good Luck against powerhouse Mt Notre Dame Saturday!

Re: Where’s the outrage now?
Portsmouth PG did a flip with 5 seconds on the clock with the ball not in her hands and up by 86 and people want her expelled and banished from society
Re: Where’s the outrage now?
Don't like the flip ?
Don't like the dancing?
Don't like kids playing hard?
Don't like kids having fun?
Don't like getting dog trumped on the score board?
Not our problem ya,all stink!
Thats what happens when you have a A.D. that only cares about football, he not willing to cheat for no other sport if that tells you anything.
If I was portsmouth I would hang 150 on you at their place just for your Homer ref trying to cheat a kid out of 4 games

I hope she stops doing backflips on the court during the game….but I’m not bothered.

I remember coaches back.in the day would run up the score and then say you wanna do something about it then play harder.
Re: Where’s the outrage now?
I just hope the teams that are winning by crazy scores are scheduling big out of conference games to get to where they want to be at the end of the season. I’m sure they probably are.
IMO you have to go against better to get to where you want to end up…,and sometimes it’s tough to find better and sometimes it’s not convenient.

Re: Where’s the outrage now?
Yeah but if you schedule up and happen to lose a game it might not give your player a chance to do a back flip during the game. So there’s that concern.Ironman92 wrote: Thu Dec 11, 2025 9:03 pm I just hope the teams that are winning by crazy scores are scheduling big out of conference games to get to where they want to be at the end of the season. That’s true, and then grown men like you couldn’t be upset about it, and wouldn’t want that. 27 backflips last year, including the state title game. Working their way to repeating that one. Did take a close loss already though to a tough team.meatswinger wrote: Fri Dec 12, 2025 12:54 amYeah but if you schedule up and happen to lose a game it might not give your player a chance to do a back flip during the game. Re: Where’s the outrage now?
Saw where the Ironton Middle school girls basketball team was involved with an altercation with Chesapeake this past Monday…while it always takes 2, it seems that Ironton athletics is one of the 2 in being in the middle of quite a lot negative issues here lately.

A few assumptions you made there with no supporting evidence. Portsmouth has 5 d1 schools on its non league schedule i believe. Already played 2 of them , beat renoldsburg and lost by 2 against olantangy.
Was supposed to play mt Notre dame this past Saturday and got snowed out

Yeah I know…yeah I prefer the 73-14 over the 94-6 or whatever but both are complete and utter dominating things where the opponent just has nothing to battle any better. In the sports I coach I had a 4x state champion but when someone runs the 3200 and laps the vast majority of every runner in the SE district….no one bats an eye or feels an ounce of running up the score. Everyone is just wow that kid is phenomenal or I can’t imagine how hard he works. When it’s 54-2 at half or whatever some fans are wanting the 100 and some are hoping great sportsmanship is displayed.
One could argue the pitcher with 15 strikeouts in the 6th inning shouldn’t be throwing so hard to the #8 hitter….no one (including myself) looks at it that way. Basketball and football are viewed differently and I’m ok with that…but see the other side too.
Coaches doing it for any type of ego boost would be where I have a big big problem….and it’s out there.

Be careful this reads as is if our AD at Portsmouth cheats in all sports not just Football like Ironton. While it may be true. I don’t think that’s what you meant! lol. It’s girls HS basketball not sure anybody other than us down here take it more seriously than football.
