Good to see Yontz earn MVP for the game.

Buckcc,
I don’t know. Not sure why you care. MC will be playing Wheeling Catholic Central twice this year. If they actually win or play them close it will tell you about MC. Personally I think WCC could win the D5 Ohio championship. We also have to play Wheeling Park which may have the same enrollment figures as Iggy.

I don’t disagree we haven’t played as strong of a schedule as Hiland, but we haven’t played some tell games coming up.

But answer your question I’ll defer others as to how we ended up playing Tyler. I only know it’s a school probably twice the size of us.

Buckcc,
We have one of the best young coaches in the Division 6 portion of the state. Yes I mean the entire state. He is building a great program from youth to varsity. We’ll be a solid team as long as he is here

Saw both Wheeling Park and Wheeling Central Catholic play today. Central Catholic is better than last year. Sancomb had to have almost 50 against Steubenville tonight. Wheeling Park is better than I expected them to be. They will be a challenge for us.

Why would play in a showcase like this and beat a team thirty points, what did you get out of this other than a W,I guess I really would of like to seen MC play Dover in this showcase, did your coach have any say who they were going to be matchup against in this showcase, was just wondering, also your saying Wheeling Central Catholic could win d5 in ohio, that would of been interesting matchup with Lutheran East in d5 in ohio and Wheeling Central Catholic from wva

Anyone go to the Cincinnati Christian game? Final score was 65-49 MC. I’m just curious how we played, I didn’t expect the game to be that close.

What did you gain playing Thourgood Marshall? They scored 20 pts on you. Or maybe Hiland is that great to beat them by 37 I suppose you’ll reply with?

Going to try to make it but anyone know if there’s a livestream for the Park game on Saturday?

I was asking about the same thing and it doesn't appear as though there will be a stream.

Somewhat of an upset in the Valley

MC 66
Wheeling Park 53
final

I believed in the Noles but Park has 5 times the enrollment than we do, and they are a decent team. Big win for the Noles

Big matchup with Wheeling Central coming up next. Let’s pack the gym MC fans! Let’s give a big Monroe County welcome to the Tepee to the WC contingent lol

I was sad I couldn't make it tonight. How did the Seminoles play tonight? Was the game closer throughout than the final would indicate or were we up most of the game?

We led the entire game. Park was fast and very physical, which is something we’ve probably not seen yet this year. It bothered us a lot in the first half but Park seemed to wear down in the second half and 4th quarter specifically. Park was only playing 6-7 guys and we were rotating 8 or 9. It was good to see Maddox Henderson get more playing time and he hit some big shots early which set the tone. The game Tuesday will be a big challenge for this group and it will be interesting to see if they can hold Wheeling Central in the 50’s or 60’s to give us a realistic chance to win.

WCC 89
MC 60

There won’t be an Ohio D6 that could touch WC .. that’s the good thing. The bad thing is we might have to play this team 2 more times.

Tip of my hat to WC. Sancomb is awesome and is off to Liberty U next year.

Yes, Wheeling CC is fantastic. Marietta was down 3 to them with 3 minutes left before they pulled away by 11. Wheeling shot 68% from the 3-point line that game -- they shoot 50% and might not have won. Still, I don't expect them to lose a game this and repeat as W Va state champs.
--How many did Sancomb get tonight?

WCC is a great team. Make you pay for every mistake. MC did not have Howell tonight. Played them tough in the first quarter and then fell apart.

Have you heard how long Cooper Howell is going to be out? We wouldn't have beat WCC with him, but stood no chance without him. If he is out the next few games, then I am concerned about Caldwell and River.
