Post by ArntonFartinTiger »

Ironton is by far the best basketball team in the OVC! maybe in all of southern Ohio!

Fighting Tigers are playing very well. They’re only 6 games into their season. Long way to go before we know how good they really are. Like what I hear best of luck to these kids. Go Tigers!

At this point in the year. After seeing almost all the teams in the conference play. Layne is the standout player in the conference. He does so much for that team. If you try to shut the paint down they got shooters for him to kick it out to. With the tough and physical defense they play they are going to be tough to beat as long as they stay out of foul trouble.

Ironton is having a bad shooting night they are best when ison and freeman can knock down a few trees In My opinion

Ironton surprised me. Seeing their scores up until this point, I had them winning @ Burg by 10+. Maybe Burg was the culprit applying pressure and forcing them in to some mistakes. Overall a very sloppy game from Ironton. Radio had them at 18 TO’s after the game.

Burg plays fast. Seemed like a majority of their buckets were layups in transition.

Should be a good one Friday night with an injury ridden Waverly team coming to town.

So you you're saying Wheelersburg and The Peake are not good teams. Wheelersburg outplayed Ironton and The Peake had one their worse shooting nights this year and held them to 49 points and lost by 4 at Ironton.

Basketball fans from around the Tri-State. There may not be a really superior team in Southeast Ohio. IMO basketball teams can vary in both good or bad on any given night. Winning every game on the hardcourt is a difficult chore. I am an Ironton fan. I think we are a good team. Did I think we would finish the season undefeated?? The Burg must be good. but they also may lose some. The Peake is good. Fairland normally is. In the modern game the ability to make 3's is really decisive. Burg must be good in transition. Teams will adjust and learn. I think January and February loom before tourney pairings. As the long season drags on coaches must keep their teams fresh. Now is the time to review and look for ways to improve. I think my Tigers will be fine. The PHS teams of the 60's and the years with Subotiki (sp?) I think were much better than current offerings. Go Tigers

Burgs defense just fought hard and I would say atleast half of those turnovers were caused by Burg and the way Burg speeds up and down the floor i thought looked a little gassed in the 4th quarter

Ironton’s deficiencies were exposed by the Burg the other night. They lack fundamentals that are necessity with a high school program. They are not the top team in the region and certainly not the #2 ranked team in Ohio.

Those ranking came out way too early with only a handful of games in so far.
