The gym at The Peake tonight was standing room only. Full house and very loud. I like to know what the final count was. Always this way when these two rivals play.

From my very comfortable seat in Ross County watching the SOSA live stream, there didn't appear to be much "standing room" left either. Love seeing packed gyms for high school basketball games...boys or girls. Makes for such a great atmosphere that quite frankly football cannot duplicate...and I love Friday Night Football in the fall. I know the players involved enjoy the atmosphere as well! Kudos to the Peake and Fairland faithful for showing up as always! I'm sure the York Center will be packed and loud when these two schools meet again in early February!

They’re only losses are #1 Jackson(very close game), #3 Circleville and while the score might’ve been a blowout if you were at the game circleville obviously got very hot very early but after that it was neck and neck. And a oakwood team that would smoke most of the teams in SEO. Beating the reigning consensus number #1 team that reigned for 1.5 season has got to at least get you into the top 10.
I hope Washington Courthouse wins as much as possible -- there's a reason why. But your comments about "most of the other teams wouldn't stand a chance against court house" and "a Oakwood team that would smoke most the teams in SEO" are not rational. Truly, Go Blue Lions but there are teams ranked below them that I expect would be able to be your team.

Wheelersburg maybe No. 5 or 6 now due to a limited schedule, but they would be solid favorites over several teams ahead of them. As for Marietta, why not top 3 now? Their only losses to teams that nobody else in the East or Southeast would beat. Tigers strength of schedule better than most ahead of them. Ironton I think I'd have a top 5 as well. And finally, I'm taking Peebles by 7 against Eastern Brown, although not confident about that one. This is an opinion board. These are mine for now.
Maybe a week or so early on the Burg playing only 4 games, but any answer as to why Marietta isn’t top 3 — maybe even a case to be made for No. 1? Eastern Brown should get a narrow win Tuesday night. We’ll see.

West goes to Minford tonight then play 5 games over nine days starting Friday. Home vs. Webster, Hillsboro, and Pt Pleasant before heading to Wheelersburg and then taking on Ironton at Portsmouth HS! Huge stretch of games for my Senators and looking forward to see if they can move up in your rankings! Exciting times on the hardwood on the West Side

Marietta was WAY below where they should have been going into week 5, so jumping five spots was nothing. And they beat a team this past week that was undefeated and will probably finish 21-1 in the Central district. Nobody else in the Southeast will play a team like that the rest of the season. Played Wheeling Central Catholic as tough as anyone will all season and the Tigers played Steubenville defensively better than anyone has to date (strangely awful shooting night in the paint for sure) leading to a lop-sided loss. By the way Bloom Carroll has a winning record and was 5-2 when Marietta beat them (you didn't account for them). All things considered, strength of schedule, quality wins and only two home games so far all point to a better ranking than 9th. I won't counter with an analysis of the teams above them but none with the exception of Jackson makes a stronger case in the rankings. Just promoting discussion. Marietta won't move up much from here because their schedule becomes decisively easier, at least in January (two challenging games in February), so they won't get credit for winning. Well, you can't say we don't have vigorous discussion.

Not exactly sure what part of it is not rational. They have the best shooter in the FAC who’s averaging 15 while shooting 40% from 3. Noah is a 6’6 do it all point forward who teams have almost no answer for. And the rest of the squad is tough from top to bottom. Not sure what teams you think match up so well against them or would dominate them but once the time comes we will see.

I’m assuming because 80% of the people in here believe Court House will lose 6 FAC games this year….believe me if they contend for the FAC title they will be bumped up…..and im apart of that 80%….lol

Sounds like a classic at Peebles tonight. Also, Vinton County over Meigs, 58-55. Marauders taking on water.

Seems these two teams have games like this every year . Between the Reserve barn burner and this game left fans and both teams and coaches exhausted. Now my Indians need to breathe and get ready for Fayettville at Fayettville this Friday. Go Indians.

Actually.. Three other local teams played Wheeling Central Catholic the exact same. Steubenville, Waverly, Marietta - all lost by 10.

Then there’s the Steubenville game itself… You can’t get beat by 30 and call it an off night.
