TrojanDave,
The Buckeye Elite Buckeye Showcase will be one of the best values in southern Ohio high school sports. One ticket is good for all seven varsity games. Adult tickets are $8 and Student tickets (Grades 1 - 12) are $6. We firmly believe this event should be something affordable for the people of southern Ohio. We want people to attend and enjoy the in-person experience.

$8 is a great price for that slate of games. I look forward to catching some of that day's action before our game we are covering that evening.

Thanks Danicalifornia,
The BEBS committee tries very hard to keep ticket prices reasonable so families can attend this event. Even though the proceeds from this event goes to charities in the Portsmouth area, this event is not about money. This event is about showcasing local talent against talent from outside the immediate area.
It is because of the generous support of local businesses that the BEBS committee is able to keep this showcase at such an affordable price and still put on a first class event. If you would like to see some of the businesses that have already committed to this event, you can check our the Partners Page on the official Buckeye Elite Basketball Showcase website.

We are only 2 months away from the 2026 showcase.

Game #1 -
The Lady Bulldogs of Athens HS will take on the Wheelersburg Lady Pirates in the first game of the day. Both teams are off to great starts on the year.
Athens is currently sitting at 8-2 while averaging 47.5 points per game on the offensive end and only giving up 36.7 points per game. The Lady Pirates have a 7-2 record. They are averaging 41.9 points per game and only allowing 28.6 pts.
This game will be one of the best girls basketball games in southern Ohio on Jan. 17th.
The 2026 Buckeye Elite Basketball Showcase is shapely up to be a great day of basketball. Again tickets are only $8 for adults and $6 for students. It is the best value in southern Ohio sports. Make plans to get out and support your favorite teams.

Game #2 Coal Grove (5-5) vs Eastern Pike (5-5)
Look for this game to be a very competitive game as both team are looking to get over the .500 mark on the season. Eastern Pike enters the game averaging 51.6 pts per game on the offensive end while only allowing 49.8 pts. per game. Coal Grove on the other side is averaging 45.4 pts on offense and gving up 52.9 pts on defense. The numbers would indicate this is going to be a great battle between the OVC and the SOC - II.

Game #3 Crooksville (2-10) vs Notre Dame (7-2)
On paper, this matchup may look like a mismatch, but basketball fans across southern Ohio understand the tradition of the Muskingum Valley League and the consistently high level of competition it produces. Because of that, records are unlikely to tell the full story in this contest. Expect the Titans to be locked in and ready to compete, regardless of the Ceramics’ record. Defensively, the Titans have been outstanding, allowing just 42.6 points per game, and Notre Dame will look to continue that strong defensive performance. We encourage basketball enthusiasts and all of Scioto County to come out and support the student-athletes and coaches at Notre Dame.

Game #4 Ironton (8-2) vs Portsmouth West (6-2)
This game alone would be well worth the price of admission ($8), but it’s just one of seven exciting matchups on the day. These two teams are similar in far more ways than just their records, as both enter the contest with nearly identical offensive and defensive numbers. Ironton is averaging 57.6 points per game offensively while allowing 46.4 points on defense. Portsmouth West, meanwhile, is scoring 54.3 points per game and giving up just 43.0 points. Once again, the OVC and the SOC will square off for southern Ohio bragging rights. Basketball fans from across the region have shown strong interest in this matchup, so make plans to arrive early, stay late, and enjoy food and drinks at one of our many outstanding local supporters.

Game #5 Cincinnati Shroder (4-4) vs Fairland (6-3)
This matchup will feature one of the Cincinnati Public Schools program taking on Fairland of the Ohio Valley Conference. The high-flying Shroder Jaguars enter the game averaging just under 70 points per contest (69.3 ppg). Anytime a Cincinnati-area school participates in the BEBS, it creates added excitement for southern Ohio basketball fans. Shroder’s fast-paced, up-tempo style will present a major challenge for Fairland, which is averaging an impressive 65.1 points per game itself. This game promises to be one of the day’s most entertaining matchups and is sure to draw basketball fans to the event.

Game #6 Miami Valley Christian Academy (9-2) vs Wheelersburg (6-0)
Once again, southern Ohio fans will get the chance to watch a local team take on a Cincinnati-area opponent. This time, the Wheelersburg Pirates will square off against the Miami Valley Christian Academy Lions. MVCA competes in the highly competitive Miami Valley Conference out of the Southwest District. Offensively, both teams are explosive, with the Lions averaging 68.0 points per game and the Pirates close behind at 67.1. The difference appears on the defensive end, where MVCA allows just 44.4 points per contest, compared to Wheelersburg’s 54.0. On paper, this shapes up as a very intriguing matchup and gives basketball fans another great reason to attend the BEBS and support local teams.

Game #7 Lewis Co. (KY) (5-7) vs Portsmouth (5-4)
The nightcap promises to be a compelling matchup between the Lewis County Lions and the hometown Portsmouth Trojans. Anytime a team from the Commonwealth faces a program from the Buckeye State, there is an added level of excitement, and this game is a perfect example. The Lions are led by a dynamic scoring duo in Julian Puente, who averages 25.9 points per game, and Daylen Bivens at 18.9 points per contest. Portsmouth will counter with a determined group of Trojans focused on defending their home court and winning the interstate battle.

That is a great price for 7 varsity games. It also makes the event afforadable for the family that only wants to come and watch their school play.
The digital program is a nice flare especially for the fan that wants to print the rosters off and follow all the games. Looks like a nice event planned for Saturday.

You and the regulars are going to have to hold the fort down on Saturday. I will be in Nashville celebrating a late Christmas with my son, daughter in law and granddaughter. The "VID" caused a delay in going. Have fun and enjoy the games!trojandave wrote: Mon Jan 12, 2026 12:29 pm Apologize for making a duplicate thread about the Showcase.
