It has been very soft thus far but have the tougher games all in the back end. Their next 2 opponents are River 8-1 and Caldwell 10-0

MC is really good, they’ll beat River with or without Howell. Assuming he’s playing I think they will be tough for Caldwell to beat both times, especially at home. They should be favored in those games though i think they’ll be competitive. I wouldn’t put too much into their schedule, like you said they get Wheeling probably 3x, they play what’s likely a 20 win Caldwell team twice and Ferry twice. Part of the schedule is the fact that they have to play MOVL games. I think their wins over Eastern and Belpre are decent wins. Eastern has played a very tough schedule, their record is deceiving

MC has one team to really contend with the rest of the season -- WCC. Look at records/schedules of River and Caldwell. They would have .500 records playing the schedules of many of the teams in the Southeast. I'm not saying it's anyone's fault, but there are at least 15-20 teams that would be favored over Caldwell in Pfloyd's rankings.

River has some shooters and without Howell it could be interesting, but I look for MC to bounce back at home.
Never hear enough about Caldwell and obviously its a really good team. Maybe the MOVL isn't that bad after all.

There won’t be an Ohio D6 that could touch WC .. that’s the good thing. The bad thing is we might have to play this team 2 more times.

Tip of my hat to WC. Sancomb is awesome and is off to Liberty U next year.

Have you heard how long Cooper Howell is going to be out? We wouldn't have beat WCC with him, but stood no chance without him. If he is out the next few games, then I am concerned about Caldwell and River.
I haven’t heard. I’ll ask around. He was in the shoot around before the game. I couldn’t make the game I saw it on NFHS.

Someone got hurt really badly during the game but I couldn’t see who it was. He was putting no weight on his leg as they got him to the bench

You mean someone other than Cooper got hurt?

#10 who I think is Jett Kaiser (??). Barely putting any weight on his left leg during mop up duty. He’s a freshman who gets some varsity minutes.

Cooper was hurt during the Park game and didn’t suit up for WCC

Maybe so, they did beat a pfloyd preseason top 8 Southern team right out of the gate 2 weeks after they stopped playing football. They’d be top 2 in d6 and d7 in the SE, they just play in a much tougher d6 east district and they’re still a top 3 team in that district. The MC schedule is fine for a D6 team replacing a pair of 1000 point scorers and 6 seniors from a championship team. MC will be just fine

Matchup with River should pack the Winland! Hope Cooper is back. Told my friends they'd better get there by 6 for a decent seat.
Thought it might be on YRP Facebook page broadcast but they've got JG/Philo.

Monroe Central - 69
River - 42

Nice all around performance by the Seminoles tonight. Cooper Howell and Silva had really good games and Cooper showed no signs of the ankle or foot injury. Game was never really close.

I paid the $8 for the livestream on this one tonight, my local squad Licking Hts doesn't play until tomorrow. I thought the Silva kid played very well and Howell did not look injured. River kept it competitive for a half but MC was clearly better.

River did a nice job controlling the tempo in the first half. But MC was able to play faster as the 2nd half wore on and River starting pressing a bit

Wonder if there was any newspaper coverage of this one? Good to see Howell showing no problems and Silva doing well.

Didn’t see much, just this minor recap:

WOODSFIELD – Cooper Howell scored 22, Caedyn Silva added 19 and Blake Yontz contributed 16 as the Seminoles rolled past the Pilots on Junior Winland Court inside Monroe Central High School.

Crestyn Isaly paced River with 14 points. Evan Longwell added 10.

skyvue,
thanks for that little recap. Wasn't a lot but I think early deadlines hurt sports coverage.

Caldwell @ MC. What’s the thoughts on this game? Winner should have the inside track on the coveted MOVL title lol

Fiesty game. Caldwell came for blood. If we play like that @ Caldwell I look for them to knock us off.

Settled for way too many 3’s in my opinion.
