Jackson vs Wheelersburg
Re: Jackson vs Wheelersburg
Streaming is all done by media team of the high school kids in the class. It is free. High end kids working the game. I can’t speak for the 1st and 3rd quarters but I rewatched the 2nd and 4th and minimal issue
Re: Jackson vs Wheelersburg
Two solid teams. Congrats to JHS on the win.
The louder you talk the less credibility you got
Re: Jackson vs Wheelersburg
So are free throws, but people mess up on those too. Complaining isn't a bad thing as long as it leads to correction if it's warranted. In this case, it is.BBALL99 wrote: Thu Jan 15, 2026 9:08 am Gotta love people complaining about the livestream.....it's free....
Re: Jackson vs Wheelersburg
Oh geez. The stream is a production with sponsors who I would assume have a stream that didn't lag. Mentioning it isn't that big of a deal until someone makes it out to be. It was an observation.
Re: Jackson vs Wheelersburg
True
Also though many Jackson folks watch it instead of getting out to the game and I didn’t see any complaints on FB. Was it the 1st qtr? What I watched in the 2nd and 4th qtr was minimal to nothing (because it would bug me too)
I’m thankful for those that have it for free because that NFHS for $10.95 isn’t a good stream a lot too.
Re: Jackson vs Wheelersburg
I watched the stream. Thought the girls did a great job. I think the only thing I noticed was the audio didn’t sync with the play. The girls would say good or no good before the shot. I just turned the volume down and thought it was fine.

One thing that needs commented on though... lol. Is that officiating crew... they are the worst in the area. Wanna be part of the show sooooo bad.. arrogant. Babies. Lol. Seen them multiple times over the years... and theres no rhyme or reason to their awfulness.. if ya hate your job so bad fellas... do somethihg else... they try an ruin a ton of good games.
Re: Jackson vs Wheelersburg
That was and IS the absolute BEST officiating crew (for my money...lots of other outstanding officials in our region as well). Keith, Rod, and Jason do an outstanding and fair job. All three of them are the nicest folks you'll ever encounter too. There's a reason you see this crew at the biggest games each week. I just take exception when someone is denigrating officials. Very few could step into their shoes (including myself) and do as great of a job as they do and all the other fine officials in southern and southeastern Ohio. Now, I will say this crew is notorious for calling it a little closer than some other officials, but they are consistent throughout the entire game. I can also say that all three of them undoubtedly LOVE doing what they do, or else why would they continue doing it after all these years? The amount of travel and being away from home coupled with not great pay and constant ridicule from classless parents/fans is not worth it unless you absolutely love doing the job and love the game. You are obviously entitled to your opinions. That's what this site is for...to express opinions...but my opinion is that you couldn't be more inaccurate in your assessment of this officiating crew.Rza1 wrote: Fri Jan 16, 2026 12:05 amBBALL99 wrote: Thu Jan 15, 2026 9:08 am Gotta love people complaining about the livestream.....it's free....

Oh im not denigrating officials.. they have a tough.. impossible job... im.denigrating THOSE officials. Most arrogant thin skinned group around. They are consistent with it though.
Re: Jackson vs Wheelersburg
Arrogant? No way. Thin-skinned? You may call it that. I couldn't disagree with you more. They just know how to control the game and don't tolerate show-boating or taunting.Rza1 wrote: Fri Jan 16, 2026 7:10 amZTPMM88 wrote: Fri Jan 16, 2026 5:03 amThat was and IS the absolute BEST officiating crew (for my money...lots of other outstanding officials in our region as well). You need to watch that crew more if you don't think they are arrogant or thin-skinnedZTPMM88 wrote: Fri Jan 16, 2026 7:53 amArrogant? No way. Thin-skinned? You may call it that. They are a good crew and you want them to be on a game, but don't smile if you make a big play or you might get a T
Re: Jackson vs Wheelersburg
Lol. Think they gave 5 techs in this game.
.. ZT is right they control the game... and also hate basketball and kids. Lol. And fun. And definitely their job. Clowns.

Re: Jackson vs Wheelersburg
If they hate basketball, kids, and their job then why is it they continue to work in the game around kids for so many years? I would argue the exact opposite in that they are very passionate about the game and the job that they do. They may not get EVERY call right, but there isn't one official in any sport at any level that does. I just know whenever I attend a game and see that crew walk out onto the court during warmups, I am confident the game will be officiated fairly and accurately for both teams.Rza1 wrote: Fri Jan 16, 2026 11:46 am Lol. Re: Jackson vs Wheelersburg
Being completely objective, there were four technicals in the game. 3 were absolutely warranted in my opinion, and one by rule was warranted but I didn’t like it personally. 1 a dunk in warmups…warranted. 2 a player throwing the ball at another player…warranted. 3 a player cursing and complaining about a call…warranted. 4 a player celebrating a shot, although it was in the rule book for not allowing that particular celebration…I didn’t think the Jackson player meant anything by the celebration …but by rule…warranted.
Officiating is quite difficult which we would all agree. But as a coach, you want guys that work at it, you can speak with them when you disagree or need something explained more throughly, consistency, and fair. These guys, albeit may not be your cup of tea, do all of these things.
Just my opinion!

Re: Jackson vs Wheelersburg
Lol. Hey I get that the rules are definitely the rules... an their job is tough. I'm just saying those guys are arrogant thin skinned preeks...lol. they let kids...coaches...and fans affect their calls.. they hold grudges that can..have..and will affect games. Having a short memory is a great attribute as an athlete as well as an official. Didn't realize a little ref comment would strike such a nerve. Lol.123xxx wrote: Fri Jan 16, 2026 10:05 pm Being completely objective, there were four technicals in the game.

Re: Jackson vs Wheelersburg
You know the dunk…near the end of pregame with officials nearby is not going to be overlooked. The technical on the big 3 seemed just worthless as it didn’t appear to be at anyone and it was so loud I can’t imagine anyone hearing it…
Didn’t feel right but I was 70 feet away

Re: Jackson vs Wheelersburg
Was very impressed with Jackson…knew they’d be physical and athletic, but their basketball skill/iq was apparent as well. Point guard is a player, and supporting cast know their roles.
Overall fun game to watch between two solid teams*
