Re: Marietta 75 Warren 66 a final (Napkin Stats & IMO's)
* I didn't realize there was a "format or template" that I needed to follow in doing game rundowns ... I'm a Bob Dylan fan, Dylan came out with his "Christian Trilogy" albums from '79-'81 - I didn't care for those albums BUT am STILL a Dylan fan ...
** if you look at the time stamp on the rundown of the Warren @ Marietta game it was late in the day "4:54p the following day" hmmmm I was in a hurry to get this one done, as there was an - in my little mind - important game in Jackson Tuesday night (Jackson vs Wheelersburg) ...
*** I thought I hit the high points for both teams - Marietta was all Wittekind/Riley which I highlighted -points/threes ...
**** Hawkins? where I was sitting I was not facing the benches ... I didn't see Hawkins get injured on the court ... I didn't even know he was injured until I saw the video replay with him on the bench ... in the video/the camera is set up facing the benches ... I still didn't see where he was injured on the court - just saw him in the video being attended to by the trainer ... without Hawkins - Marietta STILL forged a 20+ point lead ... so I suppose it IS my bad in not seeing the Hawkins injury ...
... "Yes he loves Maddox. Maddox probably talks to him before the game. LOL" ... "Love PFloyds passion and insight, but we all know Blaine Maddox is his boy" ... Coach Maddox IS one of the best coaches in the Southeast District - 452 wins qualifies him to mentioned with ANY coach in Ohio ... I am lucky to call Coach Maddox friend, colleague for over 30 years so YES, I probably talk to him before games every chance I get - that's what friends do
... other coaches - YES, I try to talk to them before games as well, at least say hello , I don’t go out of my way due to not wanting to disturb or disrupt coaches and their routines … I’m a nobody and I never assume coaches WANT to talk to me …
… there was no intent to slight any team or player(s)- it’s not what I do …

Pfloyd you always do a great rundown of games and have for years. You are a neutral observer. The coaches who have put in the time and effort for years deserve recognition and Maddox is one of them.
Look at his record and there are many of these great coaches in southeastern Ohio.
Keep up the good work my friend. See you down the road .

Glad you responded. The two things some of us wondered about was not mentioning one time the best player on either team missing most of the game. The other was multiple “positive takeaways” for Warren but zero for the other team. Just don’t know that anyone ever saw that before on this forum.pfloyd wrote: Sat Jan 17, 2026 2:45 pm * I didn't realize there was a "format or template" that I needed to follow in doing game rundowns ...
