Looking forward to this game. FF having this long break could be a good or it could be bad. I know Borich has her team ready for this one. It will be interesting to see how the Zeps respond. Taking a loss like that can go one of two ways. I think it will be a battle but playing at the Fort is always a tough environment.
Good luck Cadets!

I think Fort Frye comfortably in this game. It isn't a great matchup for them but i think they slow the game down and get their revenge. The Shenandoah loss to Marietta cemented my opinion on this matchup. Chances are, they will match up again somewhere.

Final from Beverly. 43-31 Lady Cadets get the win. Close game through 3. Cadets pulled away in the 4th. Probably wont be the last time these two teams meet.

Good win for Fort Frye. Next week (Thursday specifically) will be big. Shenandoah gets Monroe Central and Fort Frye plays Wheeling Central. I think those games will determine the seeding for the OVAC.

Fort takes on Linsly tomorrow at 11 up in wheeling. Beat them pretty good the first time around. The ovac and east district standings are getting interesting as the regular season whines down.

Ovac as of last Sunday

1. Wheeling Central.......lost to MC Thursday night
2. Shenadoah........lost to FF Wednesday
3. Martin's ferry......still has to play MC b4 ovac cutoff date
4. Fort Frye....beat shenandoah, still has wheeling central to play b4 ovac cut off
5. Monroe Central......beat Wheeling Central and still has Shenandoah and Ferry b4 ovac cutoff.

Only 4 will make 4 team ovac tournament.

Hiland may be the 4 seed but everyone will be smart to avoid them. It won't surprise me if FF, MC and Shenandoah are all on the opposite side of the bracket.

Fort beats Linsly 58-38. Up next is the Lady wildcats of Waterford, Monday night. Hope this game gets in. Only match up between these 2 teams this year.

Shake up in the OVAC and in the district. Wheeling Central loses and drops from 1st to 5th. Ouch. FF second to Shenandoah right now so they would host Monroe Central if it started today. Wheeling Central probably has to beat Fort Frye to get into the tournament.
In the District, I saw where the injuries have mounted for Hiland and they are now down two starters. Things could be looking up for the rest of the district and I think the Cadets would have to be the favorite now. But it it will still be a very competitive district tournament IMO.
As with everything else, wait a few days and things will change again. LOL

Fort will play @ Wheeling Central Wednesday night.
Shenandoah will host Monroe Central Wednesday night.
Doesn't look like ferry will have another game b4 the ovac cutoff date (Wednesday). So I would say ferry is making top 4. The 2 winners will also make the top 4. Leaving the 2 losers bying for 1 spot. If Shenandoah loses, they will probably still make it. In monroe central loses they might be the odd team out. A win by Fort or a win by Shenandoah will probably get the Cadets in the top 4.

The whole Fort Frye/Wheeling Central developing relationship is interesting to me. The schools had no history until very recently. Now they're scheduling girls basketball - and probably losing money to do it. Fort Frye has beaten them in football, but WC (unlike most of Southeastern Ohio) continues to think it's worth traveling to Beverly every other season.

Didn't realize that they just recently started playing. Similarly, I think the football team should schedule Wheelersburg, Harvest Prep and Ironton and the girls basketball team should schedule Fairland, Portsmouth and Parkersburg. I prefer them to play teams that are good as opposed to teams that have been good in the past. Think it will prepare them for the long run. Hopefully the WC game gets played. I expect a pretty comfortable win for the Cadets.

Would be shocked if the fort frye vs wheeling game happens. Fort just called school off and the back roads are still bad. Don't think the administration is gonna risk it. Could be wrong. But I doubt it

Cadets are safely in the OVAC so it shouldn't matter there for FF. Wheeling Central's only hope of getting in was to beat Fort Frye and I don't think that was going to happen anyway. One concern would be that Fort Frye will have quite a few games to make up. I hate to see them play a lot of games in a short period of time. Just think it opens up the possibility of injuries and such but others will be in the same boat. Game like the WC game may not get made up.

I can't imagine any situation where Fort Frye would be scheduling Wheelersburg, Ironton, or Portsmouth. Harvest Prep or Fairland would be a long shot. Parkersburg South plays Fort Frye from time to time, but Parkersburg doesn't seem to have any interest.

Can't imagine it because Fort Frye wouldn't want to play them or because those other schools wouldn't want to play Fort Frye? I think those would all be pretty good games year in and year out. Similar size and similar success in the past few years.

Has the FF/WC game for tonight been canceled? I assume it has been and if the cutoff for the OVAC is tonight then the Cadets will host Monroe Central in OVAC first round and then possibly play Shenandoah for a third time.
